Privacy Policy
Last updated September 28, 2026
Thurdly (“Thurdly,” “we,” “us”) helps groups plan nights out. This policy explains what we collect when you use thurdly.com and the Thurdly apps, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions: support@thurdly.com.
What we collect
If you create an account:
- Your email address and password (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider).
- Profile details you choose to add: name, username, phone number, home city or neighborhood, bio, and profile photo.
- Planning preferences, such as your default neighborhood, budget, vibe, and group size.
- The plans you create, the venues you save or like, and your activity on plans you're invited to.
If you join a plan as a guest (no account needed):
- The name you enter, and your email if you choose to give it.
- Your phone number, if the plan's host invites you by text message.
- Your RSVPs, reactions, comments, suggestions, votes, and replies. Everyone with the plan's link can see these, along with your name.
Automatically:
- Your location, only if you allow it in your browser or device, to show venues near you. We use it for that search and don't save it to your account.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and errors. We use it to keep the service secure, limit abuse, and fix problems.
- A small share of sessions may be recorded for debugging, with text and form inputs masked.
We use cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember that you've joined a plan. We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
- To run Thurdly: build itineraries, share plans, and collect RSVPs and suggestions.
- To send messages you ask for, such as account emails and text invites a host sends.
- To keep Thurdly safe: prevent spam and abuse, and review content that's reported to us.
- To understand and improve how the product works.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run Thurdly, and only what they need:
- Supabase: database, sign-in, and file storage.
- Vercel: hosting and privacy-friendly usage analytics.
- Sentry: error monitoring.
- Anthropic and OpenAI: generating itineraries. We send your plan's details (occasion, neighborhood, group size, vibe, budget, and any notes), not your name or contact details.
- Google Maps Platform and Foursquare: venue search, photos, and maps, including your location when you share it.
- Ticketmaster and Eventbrite: event listings.
- Twilio: text invites, which include the recipient's phone number and the invite message.
- Resend: account and support emails.
- Upstash: rate limiting, which processes IP addresses.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business.
Your choices
- Delete your account anytime from Account settings. This deletes your profile, photo, and the plans you own. Anything you posted on someone else's plan stays there, unlinked from your account, unless you ask us to remove it.
- Edit or delete your profile details, suggestions, and replies at any time.
- Joined as a guest and want your details removed? Ask the plan's host, or email support@thurdly.com.
- Turn off location access in your browser or device settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your data. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active or while the plan it belongs to exists. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except where we need to keep it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons. Backups roll off on their normal schedule.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to what each part of the service needs. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Age requirement
Thurdly is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
